Type of Data: In programming languages, data types indicate the types and value ranges of objects, such as whole numbers, floating point numbers, character strings and so on. In the context of digitization and big data, a difference is also made between structured and unstructured data. Structured data indicates data that has been defined in data models and can be stored in a company’s relational data-bases, which makes it easily accessible and capable of inter-pretation. In contrast, unstructured data is difficult to ac-cess and interpret, such as text files or pictures.
